The eagerly-awaited grand finale of this year’s Miss Bumbum competition is just weeks away and to mark the final stretch of the campaign, the organizers have released an eyebrow-raising press invite. Replacing biblical characters with some of the bikini-clad candidates they have reproduced the scene from Leonardo Da Vinci’s famous mural, which depicts the meal at which Jesus announced one of his disciples would betray him. Cacau Oliver, founder of the competition, said the image mixed religion and women – two of the national passions in Brazil. “We don’t mean to offend the church,” he said. For the competitors, it means they are just weeks away from fighting it out for the title of Brazil’s best butt. After 10 million votes were cast online, the final 15 have been chosen and will compete in Sao Paulo on November 9th.
